Scottish Rite Education Opportunities

During our February stated meeting, Ill. Brother Chris Pearman gave an excellent presentation on many of the educational opportunities available to us as Scottish Rite Freemasons. A very short synopsis of his presentation is outlined below. 

Master Craftsman Program… The Scottish Rite Master Craftsman program is a correspondence course that consists of three programs: Program I: The Symbolic Lodge will familiarize students with aspects of the development and symbolism of Blue Lodge Masonry, Program II: Scottish Rite History & Ritual consists of six lessons utilizing the Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor & Guide and A Bridge to Light (4th ed.) and Program III: Scottish Rite Philosophy explores the ritual of the Scottish Rite on a deeper level. 

Master Craftsman Group Studies USB… The Master Craftsman Group Studies is a program designed to engage a group of Brothers in discussion about the Degrees and their lessons. This USB contains 28 PowerPoint Presentations designed to en-gage brothers about what they have seen and heard in the Degrees of reunions they have attended. 

The Scottish Rite Research Society… The Scottish Rite Research Society is one of the best groups in contemporary Masonic research, pursuing a publication program that emphasizes quality in content. 

The College of the Consistory… The College of the Consistory is a free self-study program for Scottish Rite Masons of all Orients facilitated by the Guthrie College. 

The Masonic Book Club… Membership is open to anyone 18 years or older who is interested in the history of Freemasonry and it allows you to purchase Masonic Book Club editions at a pre-publication discount. 

Valley of Saint Louis, Orient of Missouri Virtual Education Series… this is a monthly virtual education series using Zoom and is open to any Scottish Rite Mason. This series explores each of the Scottish Rite Degrees in depth. Send an email to if interested. 

Monday Morning Masonry… this is comprised of weekly emails sent from Maynard Edwards of the Supreme Council.
